Choir

The church choir serves God and the parish by helping to create a worshipful atmosphere through music.

Pre-Covid, St. George’s had a choir of 20-24 enthusiastic singers. Currently, a small choir (appropriately physically distanced) helps to lead worship each Sunday, supporting congregational singing and providing special music. New members are always welcome.

In the past, the choir has been involved in many church and community activities, including performing a yearly concert of sacred and secular music, Christmas caroling around town, and entertaining at church fundraisers.

Choir Director

Bill Gliddon is our choir director and church organist. Bill recently celebrated his 60th anniversary of musical leadership at St. George’s. We’re looking forward to 60 more years under Bill’s direction!

Pre covid, Bill and various choir members would regularly entertain in some of the local seniors’ homes and during covid Bill continued this ministry over his phone.

In addition to being the music leader at St. George’s, Bill also hosts the weekly radio show, “Concert Hall”, Sundays 7-9 p.m. on Canoe FM.

Highlands Opera Studio

The Highlands Opera Studio has met at St. George’s church for many summers, thanks in part to Bill’s connections and the friendly atmosphere of St. George’s parishioners who assist in many volunteer roles.
